Top Tracks of 2015

We have compiled a list of our top 50 tunes of 2015 encompassing every corner of high quality house, techno and the blurry areas in between.

2015 was a fantastic year for electronic dance music with an unprecedented deluge of memorable releases. Tastes have shifted towards warmer, more melodic house and techno over recent years, seemingly coming to a climax this past year. We've seen the rise of new flavors of house music such as Keta house and Playa Tech (aka Romantic Techno). This year we also witnessed a wave of new talented producers and DJs across the globe popping up on the scene and pushing standards to a new high. Dance music has never been more confident and more vibrant.

01. Bicep

The Irish Duo had an amazing year, with putting on their own festival in Belfast, locking a residency at XOYO and having a slew of outstanding releases including the massive success of their siren-synth jewel ‘Just’ to embellish the duo’s already impressive catalogue. Indubitably, incredibly talented Bicep, had cut themselves out as one of the most influential DJs and producers.

02. &ME

&ME hit new heights of cutting edge, superb and consistent productions in 2015. He has triumphed creatively with his innovative and groundbreaking sound reaching far and wide corners of the electronic music spectrum.
This speaker surging sheer masterpiece, ‘Trilogy’, will move any crowd absorbed in its mysterious and contagious sound waves and haunting Sabota’s vocal bursts.

03. Frankey & Sandrino

If 2014 was Walking With Elephants, 2015 was happily dancing with Acamar! From Mexico to Ibiza and everywhere else, this unquestioned big room anthem smashed dance floors like a tornado with its simple-incredibly-gorgeous atmospheric ingredients. This expressive elegant and sumptuous tune for sure will be remembered as one of this year's finest.

04. Stephan Bodzin
Herzblut Recordings

German techno maestro, Stephan Bodzin, strikes an exquisite balance of artistry and moods with his deeply emotional full length album ‘The Powers Of Ten’. The perfectly-sculpted ‘Wir’, shimmers into the musical canvas with a slight melancholia interspersed with a moment of true insight, and subtle beauty.

05. Roman Flugel
‘Heartbreak Kids’

Iconic German producer, Roman Flügel, continues to churn out quality music at a prolific rate. ‘Heartbreak Kids’ is a hypnotic big room powerful number infused with touches of visceral, melodic strain of abstract  electronic elements.

06. Axel Boman

Swedish eccentric producer, Axel Boman, puts his magic touch on this soulful gem. A stunning closing track that definitely grace any DJ set.

07. Andre Hommen
‘Battery Park’

You could argue for the inclusion of pretty much any track produced or remixed by Andre Hommen this year, but “Battery Park” has made a winner. Get ready to take a wicked journey through a twisted psychedelic wonderland of spiky yet melodic synths and Morse code beeps that pan in and out over a pulsing powerful bass line. This track is regularly played by the likes of Ame, Solomun, Maceo Plex, Dennis Ferrer and countless others.

08. Beacon
‘Fault Lines’(Dauwd Remix)
Ghostly International

Dauwd’s remix of ‘Fault Lines’ by Brookyn duo Beacon came out in January of 2015 and almost a year later we are still utterly in love with this gorgeous blend of slightly dark and seductive melody and subtle beat that swirls through Tom Mullarney’s silky vocals.

09. Mano Le Tough

No one can deny the artistic accomplishment of ‘Trails’ in which Mano Le Tough displays himself as a musically versatile artist who is brushing up against genre boundaries and evoking sheer emotions with great success.  ‘I See Myself In You’ is an absolute beauty and cements why it’s made to the top 10 tunes of this year.

10. Maceo Plex feat. C.A.R.
‘Mirror Me’ ( Dark Dub)

The world-renown don Maceo Plex has become synonymous with consistent production of a massive dance-floor destroyers such as
legendary remix of GusGus’s ‘Crossfade’, futuristic tune ‘Conjure Superstal’, just to name a few.  Recently he dropped a massive prime time version, ‘Mirror Me’, collaborating with fantastic Chloè Raunet of C.A.R. The stabs of pulsing melody and forceful bassline  all works in tandem to give you a hands down year  winner.
