'Sfire 3 (John Talabot Tribalist Rework)'
Cocktail D'Amore Music & Muting The Noise
Without a doubt, John Talabot's 'Sfire3 - John Talabot Remixes' EP is the most eagerly waited release of 2016. The outstanding package of three remixes of the contemporary classic ‘ Sfire3', released via Muting The Noise in partnership with Cocktail D’Amore Music instantly sets the mood and transports the listener to another magnificent realm of electronic music. 'Sfire 3' (John Talabot Tribalist Rework) brings the future to now. The warm vocals and rich harmonies are layered on a powerful groove and a hypnotic synth melody surrounded by the intermittent wail of ambulance sirens, evoking images of New York City.
‘Esperits’ (LOR remix)
Following on from the success of the gorgeous remixes of classics by Arthur Russell and Kraftwerk, the Belfast producer LOR delivers another impressive remix, this time of Sau Poler’s single ‘Esperits’ via the rising Amsterdam-based label, Atomnation. He masterfully builds up a complex groove, subtly adding to the intensity with swells of melodic synths that mirror and compliment the sparse beauty of the original version.
Innervisions' unique sound continues its global domination with their new installment of the Secret Weapon series. The iconic German imprint has been putting out the Secret Weapon series since 2007, which consists of mostly unreleased tracks played by Âme & Dixon. This outstanding eighth edition comprises 13 tracks featuring 10 originals and 3 remixes. One of the most sonically compelling tracks on the compilation is crafted by the talented Italian producer, Francesco Chiocci. His contribution “Nightmares” is a tapestry of intricate textures and intriguing sounds pulsing with twisted hypnotic grooves and addictive melodies.
House music master and maestro of epic club sets Dennis Ferrer has been smashing dance floors across the globe with his explosive beats for decades. He returns to his own imprint Objektivity with the second single from his much anticipated full-length album “Paranoia Aftermath”. One of the Dixon’s peak time favorites, ‘Maniac 3000’, lives up to its name with hypnotic arpeggiated synths lines, deep driving techno drums, distorted vocal samples and touches of funk. Dennis Ferrer described this track as ‘an attempt to go backwards, to move forward’.
Guy Gerber returns to his own Rumors label, with his first release, since last years’s ‘Rumors On The Dancefloor’ single with Miss Kittin and his experimental album with Puff Daddy. The two-track package is also Guy Gerber’s first solo EP on Rumors. ‘Secret Encounters’ EP “channels the atmosphere he aims to create at his Rumors event series and Ibiza residency," according to the press release, which also describes the two tracks as "dark, enigmatic house and techno."
Hamburg-based powerhouse Diynamic celebrates the labels 10th anniversary with a special 13-track compilation. The 10 Years Diynamic Compilation features tracks by Solomun, Adriatique, Stimming, H.O.S.H., Karmon, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Thyladomid, Johannes Brecht, Undercatt, Lehar, Ost & Kjex, NTFO and Magdalena. Kollektiv Turmstrasse makes their outstanding contribution to the compilation with their tune ‘Jupiter Sunrise’. The composition is driven by dreamy, cinematic harmonies and lush dynamic layers of organic percussions that meld together beautifully with a great sense of groove.
Jules et Spatz
Rotwii-Lied (Homeless Remix)
"We like to jam, we like to drink, we like to love so be aware and share" - Jimi Jules
What do you get when two outstanding producers like Jimi Jules & Kalabrese combine forces? Elegant, beautifully crafted house music. ‘Rotwii-Lied’ (Red Wine Sing) EP is a stunning musical partnership between these two extremely talented artists of Switzerland's underground. Consisting of two original tracks and remixes of the title tune from Homeless and Tuff City Kids, the package sees the pair delve into deep, jazzy, and funky sounds with a unique and twisted edge. Homeless's reinterpretation achieves a magical quality by layering silky vocals and smooth, jazzy melodic concepts over the funky groove of the original.
Youandme & The Analog Roland Orchestra
'Reflection Feat. Black Soda" (Hyenah Remix)'
Poker Flat Recordings
Poker Flat delivers another killer collaboration, this time with Berlin's youANDme and The Analog Roland Orchestra. The result is Reflection - an EP containing more than its fair share of pure dance-floor moments. Featuring vocalist Black Soda, the title track explores deep vibrations, merging 303 basslines, and crisp 909 programming. The "Dub Tool" reworks the vocals into a more spacey arrangement. The Hyenah remix flips the script and develops a deep Afro-house inspired cut. The "Acid" mix gives an opportunity for the guys to get busy working the 303 to its full potential.
Tuff City Kids ft. Annie
'Labyrinth (club mix)'
“Here we go again / I’m running right into your labyrinth / Now I can’t find my way out.”
