Favorite Mixes from October 2020

The list of our favorite mixes from October is here. As usual, we tried to handpick mixes from DJs worldwide that cover broad spectrums of electronic music. Let the music marathon begin.

Facta - Sunday Mix

People close to me know that these type of mixes are my weakness. Downtempo, lounge, Sunday listening… you can label them however you want, but practically home listening mixes are something we've all been enjoying more this year, for obvious reasons. Wisdom Teeth founder, Facta, made this extraordinary mix for Crack Magazine's podcast series. Think jazz, folk, ambient, atmospheric D&B, this mix hit the spot for sure. A few words about the mix from Facta himself: "I built this mix over a week or so in Logic rather than on the fly," he said. "Lots of it involves layering two or three tracks at a time, so the tunes re-harmonize each other. With clubs closed, my favorite DJs have become Sara Mohr-Pietsch and Hannah Peel from Night Tracks on Radio 3, so this is dedicated to them!"

Elias Mazian b2b Oberman b2b Milo - Not Draaimolen Festival 2020

If you need 'feel good' music (um yes, you do need it), look no further. This special b2b action from Elias Mazian, Oberman, and Milo is bursting with positivity. Recorded live during an intimate gathering of friends, this 5h+ recording will definitely put a smile on your face.

Sebastian Mullaert - The Woods of Admittance

This mix is too good not to be heard. The one and only Sebastian Mullaert made this wonderful mix for the Rambalkoshe podcast series, and it's an hour of blissful downtempo, ambient and melancholic melodies. It's an essential home listening.

Lawrence - Music For Plants

Crème de la crème ambient mix from Dial's co-founder, Lawrence, is an ideal 'contemplation time' listening. Named just perfectly 'Music For The plants,' this mesmerizing mix will do the wonders if you want to zone out.

m50 + RLADE @ etc 10.16.2020

This lovely 4h music marathon, courtesy of the mastermind behind Kimochi Sound, m50, and his guest RLADE, presents house music in all its glory. From deep to classic to vocal to breaks to acid, this is house music extravaganza.

Innere Tueren b2b map.ache

Kann Records spectacle! map.ache b2b Innere Tueren is an example of a melodic and vocal house done right. 2h of positivity! Crank this one up on a sunny day and enjoy the moment!

Carsten Jost - ümlaut podcast 029

You guys ready? Does everyone have a flashlight? We are going down into a deep and dark cave, and it's essential that you fully trust our instructor for today, Carsten Jost. Carsten Jost will guide us through depths of house and techno during which we'll encounter melancholic and driving frequencies by Aphex Twin, Roman Flügel, Polygonia, Human Space Machine, Mathimidori, and others.

DJ Lychee - W&F 025

The mastermind behind Spontaneous Affinity, a Brooklyn-based music zine and mix series, DJ Lychee delivers an intergalactic journey that slowly unfolds from melancholic ambient into dark electronica and techno. The mix is very well programmed with an exceptional track selection.

Oslon - On the 5th Day

Oslated head honcho, Oslon stole our heart with his latest mix for London-based platform 'On The 5th Day.’ Flawlessly executed, the mix comfortably levitates in the deep techno realm. Oslon confidently sets up the pace in the first couple of minutes of the mix and keeps it steady while creating an ideal mood for a party in a dark basement… don't we all miss partying like that so badly?

Skee Mask - Tsugi Podcast 602

If you need something to shake you up a bit, we highly recommend TSUGI podcast 602 by Skee Mask. Twice a day, on an empty stomach with lots of water. Rave on!

Fred P - Private Society Radio

Not many artists on the underground music scene influenced a genre as Fred P influenced deep house. New Yorker currently based in Berlin has recently started with 'Private Society' radio show on Soundcloud, which according to Fred, will be an extension to his radio show that broadcasts on NTS radio. This episode of Private Society features some new, upcoming, and unreleased house and deep house jams by giants like Moritz Von Oswald and Carl Craig, Luke Hess, and of course, Fred P himself.

Vand - Harmony Rec. podcast

Yet another brilliant mix in Harmony Rec. podcast catalog. This time it comes from our usual suspect, Vand, who delivered an after-hours delight of a mix. A bit faster and groovier than we used to hear from Vand, this fantastic music trip made us long for those gatherings in dark basements that can last for hours

Altan - Nous’klaer Radio #30

After releasing a brilliant EP on Nous'klaer Audio a few months ago, Altan brings some much needed classic deep house vibes with the exclusive mix for the Nous'klaer podcast series. Lovely deep chords, hush pads, and groovy bass lines are all we need!

Move D - 120 min.

A radio show featuring one of Germany's finest producers, Move D, brings a bit of a different vibe than we usually feature here at Delayed. The first and the last 30 min of this show are packed with great jazz and rock that make quite a pleasant morning listening. If you speak German, there's an interview with Move D in between.

Christina Renée @ The Lot radio 10.23.2020

An astonishing 2hr mix by Christina Renée inspired by the life of legendary Jose Padilla will bring up all to right feels. A reminiscent of Balearic and ambient style Padilla was infamous for, this mix goes perfectly with these last bits of sunny days we are enjoying here in New York.

Villete - Mix of The Week #344

Amsterdam's own, Vilette appeared on our radar with her magnificent EP on Scissor & Thread a few months ago. For this month, we have this beautiful ambient mix, Villete made for Dream Chimney. This type of mix is the one you can listen to repeatedly and not get bored with it because it fits in many different settings. Morning coffee, subway commute, road trip… this mix is a perfect fit.

Sabrout - Tumbling Dice EP 7

Our man Sabrout with yet another brilliant ambient mix for Amsterdam -based UVA Radio. Get comfy and drift away!

John Talabot @ AMakingTime XX

This special mix from John Talabot for Dave P's AMakingtime 20th anniversary gave us a glimpse of how the future of DJing may look like very soon. JT did a holographic DJ set, and he brought up all the dance floor magic to people's homes. The set is straight-on peak time Talabot, going from deep rumbling techno to acid to trance and back. The future is here.

Zig Zach - Mixmag Asia Radio 029

Get ready for a laid back cosmic ride! Your captain for today is Zig Zach. Blackout Agency founder delivers a well-paced trip through cosmic electronica that fits perfectly both on a dance floor and on your sofa with your feet up the wall (you know, for better circulation).

Human Space Machine - Phonons Podcast 073

Ahead of his first solo EP on De Lichting, Human Space Machine steps behind the decks and delivers deep, hypnotic minimalism with his latest mix for Phonons podcast series. HSM keeps the groove rolling for a little over an hour and keeps the listener engaged with smooth transitions and excellent track selection.
