Delayed with... Alberto Iniesta [Delayed x Simbiosis]

In recent years, our exploration of the vibrant Spanish underground music scene has taken us on quite a journey. Initially, our connection with this intriguing realm was forged online, but it was our fortunate encounters with the passionate individuals who have remained stalwarts of the Spanish music scene for decades that truly deepened our appreciation. Our journey culminated in attending two exceptional festivals, Mostra and Paral.lel, over the past six months. These experiences gave us an up-close view of the local talent in action, leaving us with admiration and respect for their unwavering dedication and expertise in underground electronic music.

This August, in the picturesque region of Andalusia, an intimate gathering of music aficionados unfolded—the Simbiosis Festival, meticulously curated by Seville-based Doctrina Natura. This festival served as a rendezvous for the crème de la crème of the Spanish underground scene. Among the featured artists were names like Alberto Iniesta, Amarat, Doctrina Natura, Estrato Aurora & Ana Sola, F-on, Fran Campos, Future Pedro, Halos, Inpass, Josephine Soundscapes, Medi, Oisatsana, Qeel, Rvbian, Vidēní, Graber, Imox, Trevor Handa, and Utopian. The Simbiosis Festival embodies a sense of familial unity, fostering community spirit and nurturing local talent, all while extending a warm welcome to music enthusiasts from across the globe. The event showcased an extraordinary blend of music skillfully curated by seasoned DJs and emerging talents from the Iberian peninsula.

We are thrilled to collaborate with the Simbiosis Festival and bring you a taste of the magic from this year's edition. In the upcoming months, we will be featuring three exceptional DJ sets, with the first installment being none other than the venerable Madrid-based Alberto Iniesta, a name synonymous with the Spanish underground music scene for decades. We discovered Iniesta's musical brilliance approximately a year ago when we stumbled upon his mesmerizing four-hour-plus mix titled "Line 22." Iniesta's storytelling in that mix stole our hearts instantly. In his Simbiosis Festival set, Iniesta takes us on a well-paced odyssey through low-slung deep, dub techno, and halftime, genres that Spaniards have honed to perfection. Within this mix, you'll encounter a hypnotic and enigmatic atmosphere characterized by rolling grooves that gently sway like seaweed on the ocean floor.
