PREMIERE: Alex Albrecht Pres. Melquíades - Sprinkler [Bouquet. Records]

The days here in Brooklyn are becoming decidedly less cheerful, with mother nature firmly grasping the busy streets in a chilling embrace. Each morning we arise to a sun that almost mocks the early birds for as little warmth as is provided. Fortunately for us, we have a secret against the dreary December days, and that secret is Alex Albrecht and his alias Melquiades.

The Melbourne based artist has been crafting a fantastically rich and intricate sound over the years through his use of field recordings and a keen ear for ambiance and setting. With prior releases on Scissor & Thread and his own imprint Analogue Attic, Alex and in turn, Melquiades are no strangers to ears in the ambient and downtempo world.

'Sprinkler' comes flitting into existence as track number four off of his upcoming release, ‘Further Afield’ which will be released here in December from San Diego based Bouquet Records. True to form, warm pads fill the space between kicks as an enveloping bassline ebb and flows under a bright piano melody. All of which coalesce into a well-needed jolt of warmth.

'Further Afield' EP is coming out on December 18th via Bouquet. Records
