PREMIERE: Keen Distress - Charged Works [Inner Tension]
From the otherworldly mists of space and time come the latest cinematic offerings of Blazej Malinowski and Robert Matysia’s experimental project Keen Distress. ‘Overshadow’ is their debut release on Blazej’s Inner Tension Extra imprint. Expect a haunting motif throughout as the duo lean heavily into creating bleak soundscapes, fraught with tension and textured samples, synths included.
Our focus for today, Charged Works, begins with a hauntingly atmospheric introduction, as enigmatic synths slowly emerge from the sonic abyss. These synths sweep across the auditory landscape, evoking a sense of mysterious anticipation. They are layered with textured samples that seem to have been plucked from distant dimensions, weaving a complex tapestry of sound that continuously evolves and mutates. Also accentuated by percussion as kicks drive the track forward, and provide structure. This juxtaposition of familiar and alien elements creates an unsettling yet mesmerizing atmosphere.
Charged Works, and in turn Overshadow will be released on September 22nd on Bandcamp in both digital, and vinyl forms.
