PREMIERE: Tenzia - Epiphany [IO]
Munich based IO records is rounding out 2023 in style with their final release of the year, ‘Cold To The Touch’ by audiovisual artist, Anthony O, aka Tenzia. As the label writes, “Anthony O, is a professional artist and music producer with a background in traditional and digital art.The focal point of the Tenzia project is to overcome conventional thought patterns and genre boundaries. It explores the intersection of opposites, engaging with the interplay between the aesthetic and the grotesque, organic and inorganic, positive and negative, both visually and acoustically.”
Keeping in line with these themes, ‘Epiphany’ is a wonderfully unique entity. Defying any attempt to classify it, the track carries several different feelings depending on which voice or element your mind focuses on. Rolling percussion pings around, giving an almost dub or deep bass vibe, while the pads and flashing synths evoke dark, atonal techno moments. Combined, it’s like a mental breath of fresh air that breaks all molds.
Epiphany and the rest of Tenzia’s EP will be released into the world via IO on December 13th.
