TRACK OF THE MOMENT: DJ Balduin - Campus [QC Records]

“Well, hello there” am I saying to myself meeting “Campus” for the first few seconds.  The third track of DJ Balduin’s latest release “The Bauhaus Diaries” (QC Records) doesn’t fuzz around with a long intro and kicks off with a solid 4/4 and a few quirky noises that are taking me straight into a minimal shoegazing vibe. Just a few seconds later a sax-line makes me lift my head and “Campus” is looking at me seductively like a mezcal paloma to reconsider everything I thought in the beginning.

Potentially reminiscing the days at Weimar’s Bauhaus Academy the now Leipzig based Balduin surprises me as the track develops:  It is deep, yet groovy, a bit cheeky and totally affectionate. As a dreamy-but-joyful dance floor slider “Campus” can mark the positive turning point of your day or a party.
