We are excited to announce a collaboration with MOSTRA Festival in Barcelona which will take place from April 6 - April 9. In the next several weeks leading up to the festival, we'll feature mixes from some artists that will perform at the event, plus interview with three of the festival's residents - Timnah, Patrick Russell, and ABSIS. Recordings from the festival will follow soon after. Not only will we be one of the media partners of the festival, but we'll also be their guests during the festivities. Excitement is an understatement since MOSTRA has all the ingredients to become one of the most well-respected festivals in the alternative electronica realm.

The name MOSTRA is a reflection of what’s happening in the Barcelona scene. It links with ideas of art, film and theatre mostras, or showcases, and in a similar way each edition of MOSTRA makes features of a guest country by bringing artists from that region to the roster.

The festival programs a new way of listening to and enjoying the most advanced electronic music with a festival concept that aims to go beyond the norm: to discover different musical genres and offer visibility to artists who don’t traditionally feature on the Barcelona venue and festival circuit.

The MOSTRA project was conceived during the period of our harshest confinement from Covid-19, a time full of uncertainties in which culture came to a complete standstill. The people behind the festival wanted to celebrate life again with a new cultural proposal for Barcelona which included an electronic music festival and many more complementary activities throughout the year.

After the success of the first edition, with more than 1000 attendees, the festival returns for four days, from Thursday April 6 to Sunday April 9. With a total of 50 hours of music programmed, the line-up of the second edition will expand its musical offering to bring audiences an unforgettable sonic experience.

The festival will once again offer access to two venues located in different parts of the city, although access to both venues will only be available with the purchase of an advance ticket.

MOSTRA’s program will not be limited to musical performances and also includes a series of parallel activities that will take place during the week of the festival in April and throughout the year with the ExtraMostra series of events.

ExtraMostra is already underway in Barcelona, but also in other cities in Spain and abroad. London, Berlin, Porto and Amsterdam are some of the destinations where MOSTRA has organized events to showcase the best of national and international electronic music.

In Barcelona, the events are taking place in renowned venues such as Apolo, Human, Laut and Curtis Audio, but also in public cultural facilities such as the Centre Cultural l'Albareda and the Espai Jove La Bàscula. This complementary programming aims to reach a wider and more diverse audience, while providing visibility to artists not often seen on the traditional circuit of venues and festivals in the city.

This year's edition puts a special focus on Switzerland, and more specifically Basel, as it's becoming one of the main engines of underground dance music as Berlin, London or Amsterdam were in their time. From this country and around the Amenthia label (managed by Agonis and Garçon), some of the bases and concepts that are revitalizing the international scene are being developed. Artists like Timnah Sommerfeldt, Varuna, the whole movement around the label RE:ST (pronounced as "Relation Reset") and other artists like Ben Kaczor have revolutionized dance music with their sessions and productions where they mix techno with futuristic drum and bass and halftime.

The full line-up of the MOSTRA Festival features: Aa Sudd, ABSIS, .apart, Avsluta, Binomi, Clara Brea, Dino Sabatini, Félicia Atkinson, Grand River presents Tuning the Wind, Imox, Jin, Joachim Spieth, Kazumi Sakoda, Laima Adelaide, Lynne, Marco Shuttle, Mareena, Mattikk, Mod.1, Multicast Dynamics, Nathalia, Nico, oma totem, Patrick Russell, Puntalabernito, Refracted, Sciama, Son of Chi & Arthur Flink, Timnah, Varuna.
