Francis Harris - XLR8R Podcast 736

The fourth Francis Harris album "Thresholds" came out a week ago, and needless to say, it's been on heavy rotation in Delayed's HQ. "Thresholds," a wonderful twelve-track sonic exploration, got a little "extension" with this podcast that Francis Harris made for XLR8R. Harris creates warm, melancholy, and tender emotions in this mix. He marvelously presented these emotions in his album, but now he did it with other producers' ingredients. It's exciting to see one of Brooklyn's finest producers and DJs back in action.

Sunju Hargun - RA 821

It's always a pleasure to listen to new music endeavors from Siamese Twins Records founder Sunju Hargun. Whether it's his unique productions or mind-bending DJ mixes, Sunju gives 'a new life' to traditional music and sounds from Southeast Asia by blending them with trippy electronica, techno, and trance. Over the years, that style helped Sunju become one of the mainstays of the underground music scene in Southeast Asia. This is what Sunju said about this mix: "The overall tone carries heavy influences from Southeast Asia, keeping it raw and tribal with old and new records being played at a wide variety of speeds while keeping a trippy storytelling aesthetic. This is very much my musical headspace this year, especially for home recordings. Included are some forthcoming exclusives from the Siamese Twins Records label and great producers from around the region."

Another excellent mix for a road trip.

Barnt: The Ransom Note Mix

Cologne-based Barnt is one of the producers that are constantly changing and evolving their style, both in the studio and behind the decks. There's no forbidden ground for Barnt, and that's one of the reasons we are always excited to hear what's new coming out from him. The mix Barnt made for The Ransom Note is an eclectic, melodic escapade. This is what Barnt said about the mix: Half of the mix consists of tracks by friends, five or so of them being unreleased at the moment. It seemed to me like something connects them, maybe it's because they are emotional and have a positive undertone at the same time. I based the mix around them.

Tom VR - FMB Mixtape 183

Bicep's FMB Mixtape series welcomes Valby Rotary co-founder Tom VR, who made a proper peak time mix. Tom VR said this about the mix: The whole mix takes place within a range of 130 – 140 BPM and is dancefloor focused. I wanted to keep it cohesive and go heavy in parts. Plenty of unreleased tunes from me and my friends, and also lots of bassy four-to-the-floor bits that I'm playing atm alongside some older music and a tinge of techno stuff.

Johanna Knutsson - ISM Frequencies #3

Johanna Knutsson created a wonderful mix that lays somewhere between the ambient and the cinematic. Its textural aesthetics and melodic sensibility make it a pleasant journey into which the listener can drift freely and create their imagination. A few words about the mix from Johanna: "It's a musical take on thriving in darkness, a suggestion of existing in constant melancholy and at the same time feeling comforted by it. These pieces bring to mind something so familiar and safe that cannot be described; the sounds take you on a journey to a place you've never been yet recognized. My hope is that whoever listens will have an equivalent experience. It's a tribute to what's sacred and spiritual, and interpretation of olden times, if you will. "
