Lynne at Mysteries Of The Deep, Brooklyn, October 20, 2023

The collective and the record label Mysteries Of The Deep keeps things fresh and exciting in our local NYC scene. They found a winning combo to create welcoming events that sound and look exceptional while featuring worldwide talent that pushes the boundaries of ambient, experimental, downtempo, and beyond. We had the pleasure of attending their last event that hosted a phenomenal set by Camile Alice and MOTD founder Grant Aaron, Locust (Mark Van Hoen), who celebrated his release "The First Cause" with an incredible live set reminiscent of the late '90s and early 00's electronica, but the artist who stole the show was Lynne. Tokyo via London artist opened the night with a hypnotic, eerie ambient, but her closing set is the one that will stay with us for a long time. Dark, murky, but at the same very pleasant to get lost in, this set showed once again the incredible talent Lynne has in creating a unique atmosphere with drone, halftime D&B, and dub ingredients. Shout out to the Mysteries of the Deep crew for throwing these events in our city!

This is what Noah said about the creative process behind the mix: 'For this mix, I drew inspiration from realizing just how much music I have in various rhythms, to the extent that I've lost track of how to categorize it.
