Bucket Of Eggs
August brings the release of a new solo album from Lerosa. The Dublin-based Italian highly respected producer Leopoldo Rosa steps up to Los Angeles’s Acid Test imprint with his third full-length album, first in eight years, focusing on “synthesizing electro funkiness, widescreen ambiance, and acid counterpoint.” Since his 2011 “Amonatto” album, Lerosa has produced 15 EPs via Enclave Records, Ferox, Ostgut Ton, Apnea, Uzuri among others.
The opening track “Bucket Of Eggs” is exploring a rich, dubbed-out tapestry of interwoven passages of abstract sonic intricacies, frosty ambiance and shifting rhythmic elements of delicate acid pulses, providing a basis for Lerosa to lay down his sophisticated and constantly evolving low-key sound.
Biochip makes their impressive debut on the Sheffield based label, CPU Records. Hailing from Montreal, the production collaboration duo of Melissa Spiers and Julian Kochanowski, recorded live a new "Synthase" EP, drawing together a wide range of electronic music influences while creating an inimitable analog sound of their own.
"Simulated Events" is a kaleidoscopic journey transcending the listener to dimensions filled with warm synth under the lace parasol of analog infused electro-funk.
Georgian-born Brooklyn-based artist and Dusk & Haze record label boss Sophia Saze unveiled the second part of her continuous cassette album “Self” which was released via Francis Harries’ Kingdoms imprint. As a concept album”, describes the label,” Self ” consist of short and precise tracks mixed together, signifying a proper way to redefine a musical work in the modern age...The record embodies my story of duality within the context of identity,” describes Saze in the press release, “insomuch of the idea that every person has a deeper layer we don’t show on the surface.”
“Hope” brings the feeling of endless melancholy and personal nostalgia. Angular rhythms staggered broken beats and distant vocals channeling the melancholic utopia of electronic ambiance.
Music For XXX
The German cult techno imprint Giegling continues to expand its Dwig sub-label with a release of “Music Of XXX”, the dazzling double album from the techno collective affiliate and label owner Dwig. The nine-track album is a balanced mix of ambient and house tracks, all with soft electronic edges and rippling resonance.
The title track “Music For XXX” showcases Dwig’s remarkable skill at creating moments of opulent ambiance, melancholy and evocative mood by blending elements of minimal electronica with sampled vocals, intricate textures, and widescreen atmospherics.
It Is Not Entirely (Straightforward)
Rotterdam-based imprint Nous’klaer Audio brings the endless summer vibes with their "Nous’klaer Summer Sampler 19" compilation representing the stylish record label and featuring exclusive contributions from artists like Upsammy, Tammo, Oceanic, Konduku and Amandra & Mattheis. “It Is Not Entirely ( Straightforward)“ comes courtesy of the Dutch producer and the label mainstay Tammo. After impressive contributions to the "Paerels" compilation with a track "Carrol" and "Cruise Control Love" EP as Melatonin Man, Tammo Hasselink, short Tammo, started releasing music under his won name. Futuristic with tinges of leftfield “It Is Not Entirely ( Straightforward)“ is a fresh excursion into an abstract vision of polymorphic micro house music.
The Bunker New York
The Bunker New York, a record label founded by Bryan Kasenic as an outlet for the NYC party, is happy to present its 40th release from NY-based musician and designer Maxime Robillard, better known as
Love Letters. Entitled “Cast Off”, the four-track package “harnesses the power of deep rave with twisted up vocals, acid lines, and techniques drawn from the best of classic house topology storming propulsively into the future.” In artists own words, Love Letters unfolded the story behind this EP as:
“This EP was made after a major accident in my life. Two of the tracks were made with both arms in a cast, and in a way, this can be listened to as a love letter to my connection with this kind of music, with the community I have found on the dance floor, and with particular sounds. It acts as a document of my gratitude that after the accident I am alive and well and can still enjoy the music and world that I’ve dedicated so much of myself to.”
The title track instantly signals the acid-induced retro-futuristic house sounds filled with hazy deep house chords driving effortlessly behind fizzy acid flourishes and funky bass line.
Omnidisc, a respected record label established by a versatile electronic music producer Danny Daze, is thrilled to welcome to the family the German producer Vivian Koch. A resident of Berlin's Griessmuehle and founder of the Olympe event series Vivian Koch delivers a new album "Insomiami" whose emotive, electro-tinged productions percolate alongside label-mates Drvg, Anthony Rother, David Vunk, Cliff Lothar among others. The three-track powerful package carries a heavy emotional weight beneath its irresistible rhythms, evocative moods, and immaculate sound design.
“Pu” captures the producer’s infectious energy, as widescreen soundscapes and masterfully layered percussive elements unite over the icy electro rhythms.
