PREMIERE: Inhmost - Morning Break [Tonights Dream Records]
A new year and a new downtempo gem is coming from one of our favorite and one of the most prolific producers, Simon Huxtable, aka Inhmost. ‘Space and Awareness’ is the eighth album from Inhmost and a debut release on Tonight’s Dream Records, a record label and mix series based in Brighton, UK.
Inhmost says it best: “Space & Awareness was made at a time when I felt particularly conscious and receptive of the space around me, and I wanted to create an atmosphere that reflected this organically. <> I did not want this album to just be purely ambient, so the use of downtempo beat structures and rhythms felt like a more appropriate way to convey the variety of emotions that I was feeling at the time.”
We don’t know where Simon was producing the album, but each of the seven tracks on it is breathtakingly beautiful, and we are seriously tempted to visit the place that inspired it.
The closing ‘Morning Break’ track sent us to a space that is simultaneously serene and extra-sensory. Listening to it feels like going through some sort of purifying ritual, drifting in a cloud of transparent and unspoiled sound. You come down from its heavenly atmospherics feeling all renewed with recalibrated vision, instantly wanting to relive it again.
