Festival Picks for June
With everything about summer in full swing except for well, the weather (and that seems to be getting better by the day), there is no denying that festival season is here. Locally speaking, we have the East Coast transformational festival “I Feel” in the beautiful Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania this weekend. We’re excited about this because it’s Fiction’s first festival showcase with our residents Gilles Wasserman and Joe Foxton who will be taking on the decks on Saturday, June 10. So if you’re feeling the need for a dance in the woods, a swim in the nearby lake or a splash around in the pool party and in need of a “spiritual” break from the Big Apple, then I Feel: Summer Escape is probably for you.

Looking across the pond all the way over to sunny Barcelona is the inaugural Sonar Festival.
Starting mid next week, this one is for our European friends or for those fortunate enough to be able to get some time off work and basque in this incredible city. Barcelona’s Sonar Festival kicking off with many of our favorite artists playing over five days (official dates June 15-17 with additional parties either side).

Lineups don’t get much better than this with Tale Of Us, Mano Le Tough, Stephan Bodzin, Mind Against, Barnt, Monoloc and Special Guest: Floating Points (solo live).

Diynamic Outdoor

This is the party many Sonar fans have been waiting for. Diynamic Outdoor is one of the festival’s feature events of the week, and with its stacked label lineup for 12 straight hours it’s easy to see why.

If you like a solid mix of deep house and techno beats, this party is for you. With the techno master Kink headlining, this is where you would find us Fiction crew.

Don’t miss DJ Koze, Robag Wruhme and Axel Boman. Pre-sales have sold out but there will be tickets available on the door.
SUNDAY
Innervisions
June 18 16:00-02:00 at Plaza Mayor at Poble Espanyol
No doubt one of the most anticipated events of the week (alongside Diynamic Outdoors), Ame, Dixon and their friends John Talabot, Henrik Schwarz, Todd Terje, and John Jobse will take over the Plaza Mayor for ten hours of straight Innervisions pure magic.

Life and Death
June 18 16:00-05:00 at Vila Habana
Held in a Colonial Neoclassical mansion which boasts a huge outdoor Mediterranean garden, DJ Tennis brings his Life and Death label showcase to Sonar Festival. Be sure to catch Red Axes as well as many of the other talented acts on the lineup. This party is also sold out so try your luck on the FB event page
