Melbourne electronic producer and DJ Tornado Wallace is back to the mighty Running Black imprint for round two with an outstanding remix package of his acclaimed 2017 debut album ‘Lonely Planet’. The new “Lonely Planet Remixes” EP features excellent work from the disco-maestro Prins Thomas, German legend Move D, and the reputable French maestro I:Cube, who provided two remarkable versions of “Today”. 

The elegant and sophisticated "Today feat. Sui Zhen (I:Cube Remix)” remix floats with style and beauty which is undeniable. Combining a gentle Balearic sound, hazy electronic instrumentation of Tornado Wallace, and Sui Zhen’s airy backing vocals, this stunning version makes an impressive compliment to an already gorgeous original.

Opal (Four Tet Remix)
Ninja Tune

The dreamy lead single ‘Opal’ from Bicep’s self-titled debut album gets remixed by the English electronic musician Four Tet. Keiran Hebden (a.k.a. Four Tet) reduces the pace with a minimal arrangement, adding delicate textures and melancholic elements, letting it flourish through a hypnotic groove. This gorgeous big room version is a quintessential hit with all of the makings of a timeless summer anthem.

Berlin-based boutique imprint “Lossless” stride into 2018 with an impressive new solo EP from the innovative producer and record label co-founder Mathias Schober, also known as Show-B or SB.
The bright and multifaceted three-track ‘Continuing’ EP is described by the label as “a true reflection of Mathias’ constant approach to push the boundaries and merge his influences to draw a coherent painting.”

Impellent yet richly colored with a raw energy, ‘And Life Turns’ launches the listener on a dark and mysterious late-night journey delving into the depths of haunting bass lines layered with a thrilling arpeggiated synth and irresistible rhythms.

Permanent Vacation

Madrid’s finest producer and DJ, Miguel Barros, a.k.a. Pional continues to impress with his latest record “Miracle/Tempest” EP, released via the stylish Permanent Vacation. The three-track package showcases beautifully hypnotic deep house jams from a talented singer and producer who is perfecting his already well-established sound. 

The flip side “Tempest” hits the listener with a driving groove, blending arpeggiated synth with mutated horn sounds, and a slightly trancy melody.

Metallic Elements

Leipzig’s Mary Yalex makes her impressive debut on the tasteful KANN imprint this March with an intelligently crafted  “River” EP. The five-track package showcases Yalex’s indirect exploration of rich and intricate sound and structure. 

The opening track “Metallic Elements” perfectly describes its slightly abstract introspective feel. Open-minded rhythms, organic sound textures, and sonic energy aim to create a stunningly sophisticated voyage full of futuristic expressionism.

Hivern Discs

John Talabot’s Hivern Discs continues its string of excellent releases with the ‘Galaxy’ EP from the Valencian producer Core. ‘Borrowing elements from the cosmic side of techno, the darkest corners of trance and the glacial atmospheres of Synthwave, all of the tracks in this EP’, describes the label, ‘ooze the kind of immediacy and transcendence you can only find in the best 90’s dance music.’
The title track ‘Galaxy' kicks off the EP in fine fashion encompassing a dark and broody-techno style rhythm, seductive vocals samples and drenched in emotional melody to set the dancefloor on fire.

Sweet Romancer
Uncanny Valley

The latest installment from German imprint Uncanny Valley comes courtesy of Berlin-based producer Iron Curtis. A prolific producer, who has previously released on the likes of Polytone Recordings, Office Recordings, Hudd Traxx, Midnight Shift Records, turns in a full-length EP.  “Sweet Romancer” is the best example of his studio eloquence. 

‘Sweet Romancer’ is charged with energy and intriguing rhythmic twists. It’s a hypnotic cut with an ethereal atmosphere stemming from delicately modulated synth tones, bewitched choir elements, arpeggiated bassline, and an impeccable use of the sound spectrum.

Following on from releases on the Creaked Records, Swiss producer and SBIRE label boss Gaspard De La Montaigne returns to his own imprint with a brand new EP. Entitled “Spectre”, the package contains four utterly gorgeous tracks and is definitely another step forward in his musical expedition for the talented artist. 

The third track “Masque” is full of musical alchemy and atmospheric moods. Gaspard De La Montaigne impressively manages to conjure up a moody tableau using a beautiful pallet of electronics with dreamy pads, polymorphic tones, and clattering percussion.

The mysterious producer Nuiton strikes gold with a brand new “Out Of Prism” EP released via Exit Strategy. Following on from his releases on Innervisions and Exit Strategy, he “has come along with three timeless pieces riding through constantly building rooms of merciless sounds."

Driven by the multicolored African tribal elements and powerful techno-rhythms, ‘Carpal Tunnel’ offers a mysterious techno journey into the deeper shades of frenetic percussion-dominated sound.

The next chapter in Permanent Vacation's outstanding discography is delivered by the  Barcelona-based DJ-producer Daniela Caldellas. Since the inception of her Terr project in 2016, the Brazilian artist delivered a slew of releases on Scuba's Hotflush imprint. 

Terr’s new four-tracker “Have You Ever” EP is a display of her impressive talent of combining contemporary electro, house, and techno with retro-futuristic elements and textures. 

With its rich textures, mind-bending vocal hooks and intriguing synth lines, the dub version of the “Have you Ever” fuses grooving, synth-driven rhythms with analog sounds, and invents a new flavor of electro futuristic funk along the way.
